This collection of work focuses on the universally experienced imagery of clouds. I tone canvases with vibrant hues and allow color to influence the formation of the cloudscapes I create. The ephemeral nature of clouds leads me to consider them a form of abstraction in nature. In my work, I use this imagery to vacillate between representative and abstract painting. I heighten the feeling of abstraction by omitting subject matter that would bring the context of scale to my compositions. I want viewers to be able to visually land in these pieces and be offered a backdrop to project their personal moment by moment perceptions of consciousness.
